How to get to Aros Mains
Aros Mains Apartment and Castle Steadings is 12 miles from Craignure and just 2 miles out of Salen on the way to Tobermory.
Directions to Aros Mains Apartment & Castle Steadings Cottages
Arriving from the Craignure Ferry:
- On leaving the Ferry turn right on to main Salen / Tobermory road.
- Continue through Salen, over Aros Bridge, until you see a sign showing a right hand turn to Aros Mains.
- Half a mile down you will come to the Cottages called Castle Steadings.
- If you are booked in to Castle Cottage the parking, and entrance, to it is directly opposite Aros Castle. Castle Cottage has a side door therefore you need to take the track to the right leading to Aros Castle.
- Dairy Cottage is in the middle of the building therefore you should go to the door located at the front of the house and park in front of the building.
- If you have rented Aros Mains Apartment take the same track, as if going to Aros Castle. The gate to Aros Mains Apartment is just beyond Castle Cottage to your left. It is the large white house opposite Aros Castle.

Arriving from the Kilchoan Ferry:
- On leaving the Ferry take the main Tobermory / Salen road.
- Approximately 2 miles before Salen take the first turn on the left sign posted Aros Mains.
- Half a mile down you will come to the Cottages.
- If you are booked in to Castle Cottage the parking, and entrance, to it is directly opposite Aros Castle. Castle Cottage has a side door therefore you need to take the track to the right leading to Aros Castle.
- Dairy Cottage is in the middle of the building therefore you should go to the door located at the front of the house and park in front of the building.
